Writing the report is the easy part. Policepen gets it filed.
The officer talks through the call. Policepen turns it into facts the officer confirms, opens every filing New Jersey rules require with its deadline, routes the report through supervisor review, and keeps each filing open until a receipt is recorded.

What happens after the call
Record
The officer records an account on the iPhone in the car, with or without signal. Recordings stay encrypted on the phone until they upload.
Confirm
Each time, name, plate and action comes back as a fact with its source. The officer confirms, fixes or rejects every one. Yes-or-no questions catch the reportable events: force, a firearm pointed, a pursuit, a domestic, a bias incident.
Review
The sergeant sees the narrative with every sentence tied to its fact and source. Comments attach to the line they are about. Approval is signed and bound to that exact version.
File
Each required filing has an owner and a clock. It stays open until the submission and its receipt are recorded. After export, Policepen checks the saved record in your RMS and flags any field that does not match.
In the car, on the officer's phone
The officer taps one large button and tells the call in order. Each recording is saved on the phone first and uploads when there is signal.
One board. Open filings go to zero.
Sergeants and the chief see every open filing for the tour: what it is, which rule requires it, who owns it and how long is left. Overdue items rise to the top and escalate on the schedule your agency sets.
Written for New Jersey
The rulepack covers the filings New Jersey officers actually owe, with the deadline basis each rule sets:
- Use of force and show of force: AG portal report within 24 hours
- Vehicular pursuit: a portal report from each operator within 24 hours
- Bias incident: report to the State Police within 24 hours of the initial response
- Crash: NJTR-1 within 5 days of completing the investigation
- Missing person under 21: state system, NCIC and NamUs within 2 hours of the report
- Death, serious injury or deadly force: immediate County Prosecutor notification
- Domestic violence, arrests under bail reform, juveniles, BWC, evidence, Brady/Giglio and internal affairs referrals
Body-worn camera rules, enforced
When an incident falls under AG BWC Policy §10.3, Policepen hides the recordings and anything drawn from them from the officers involved until the investigating entity authorizes access. The officer writes from memory. After authorized review, every later report carries the §10.3.1 statement.

Conflicts shown side by side
When the CAD entry and the officer's account give different times, Policepen shows both with their sources and the difference. It does not pick one. The officer clarifies or keeps both with a note, and the sergeant sees the choice.

Walk one call through Policepen
The demo runs a synthetic pursuit with a firearm pointed: the facts the officer confirms, the filings it opens and their clocks, a CAD and recording time conflict, the RMS check and the chief's board. A second case shows the body-worn camera restriction.
